Student Requirements

Apprentice Alamance gives high school students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industries they’re curious about.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested in starting your career with an apprenticeship through Apprentice Alamance? Find out if you meet the eligibility requirements below.

High School Status

•Must be a junior or senior in high school.

•Attend a school in the Alamance-Burlington School System*, or be a homeschool, charter, or private school student in Alamance County.

*Students in neighboring school systems may be eligible to apply. Contact us for more details.

Academic Requirements

•Maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA*

•Successfully completed Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3

• Complete a college placement test if needed

•Applicants must be high school students when applying.

*Specific apprenticeships may require a higher GPA.

Attendance and Behavior

•Maintain good attendance records at school with no more than 5 absences per year

•Commitment of parent/guardian and student

Recommended High School Courses

•Physics

•Drafting or Engineering

• Computers (MSITA, Programming, MaWD)

•Any Related Hands-On Courses (Automotive, Electronics, Agricultural Mechanics, Machining, Welding, etc.)
